Convention of National Federation of Democratic Women's Clubs
June 11-15, 2014 - Kansas City, MO
MFWDC is proud to announce that we will host the 2014 Convention of our national affiliate, the National Federation of Democratic Women, in Kansas City at the Sheraton at Crown Center, June 11-15, 2014. It will be an exciting time to showcase Missouri on the national level. We intend to feature nationally recognized speakers and spotlight our own Missouri dignitaries.

DCDWC meets monthly for Democratic updates and fellowship at Strawberry's Barbecue in Holcomb, MO. Most meetings include event, candidate, and Party updates. Guest speakers often entertain and inform the group.
Dancing with the Democrats
March 28, 2014 - Dexter, MO
The 8th District Democratic Women put on their dancing shoes during their March fundraiser. Six couples showcased their dancing talents in hopes of winning the prized Dancing with the Democrats' Mirror Ball trophy.
Dorothy Adams and Chuck Banks took the top prize.
Holly Java Christmas Party

The Holly Java Christmas Party was hosted by Dunklin County Democratic Women and was a chance to get-together and socialize with fellow Democrats from the area while enjoying an assortment of desserts and hot beverages. This event was sadly canceled due to incliment weather.

FALL INTO ARTS Festival

Fall Into Arts is a festival in Downtown Kennett that celebrates visual, performing, literary, and musical arts in the area. DCDWC will have an informational booth at the festival and will be registrating voters.

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster will be speaking at the Grecian Steak House in Kennett, MO on Wednesday, October 8th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Koster will be in town in support of Walter Dearing, the Democratic canidate for State Representative.

Women at the VFW Building
in Kennett, MO on April 10
and 11, 2015.
The event included an
evening of food and
entertainment on Friday,
April 10. There was a catered meal, live and silent auction, and a 'Dancing with the Democratics' fundraiser and competition. The formal buisness meeting and catered lunch took place at the same location on Saturday, April 11. Missouri Director, Office of Community Engagement, Maida Coleman, gave the Keynote Speech.

The 2nd Annual Back to Blue Fall Fest took place on November 7th at the Holcomb Community Center. The event was hosted by the DCDWC in support of the 25th Senatorial Democratic Committee. The evening was filled of great food and fun. Strawberry's BBQ catered the event and their was a silent aution. The keynote speaker was Pat Contreras who is running for Missouri State Treasurer. Those who attended were also filled in on all the lastest political gossip from Lola & Wilma.

The 3rd Annual Dancing With The Democrats competition took place as part of the 8th District Democratic Women's Spring Convention. Six couples competed and showcased their dancing talents in hopes of winning the prized Dancing with the Democrats trophy. This year's winners were Karen Slicer and her grandaughters, Gracie Belle and Mollie, who preformed to Redfoo's Juicy Wiggle.

This year's Spring Convention for the
8th District Democratic
Women was hosted by the Stoddard County Democratic Women. The event was held at the Cox Corner Building in Dexter, MO.
The Friday night event included great food and entertainment. There was a catered meal, live auction, and the 'Dancing with the Democratics' fundraiser and competition. The formal buisness meeting and catered brunch took place at the same location on Saturday, April 9. The 8th District was lucky to have the Missouri Federation of Democratic Women's Clubs President, Margaret Gladbach, come down for the Convention. There were also several candidates who attended the convention and informed the ladies on why it is important to elect Democrats! Judy Baker, candidate for State Treasurer, was the Keynote Speaker and introduced herself and requested everyone's support! All who attend the event had a wonderful time and left feeling motivated and energized.
8th District Woman of the Year
April 9, 2016 - Dexter, MO
Each of the six clubs that represent the 8th District nominateed a Woman of the Year candidate to be recognized during the Spring Convention. Dunklin County's nominee was Judith Vavak who has been a long time and loyal member to the DCDWC. Judy was honored along side the other five counties' nominees (shown to the right). During the award presentation Bobbie Benson from Ripley County was awarded the 8th District Woman of the Year.

MFWDC Convention
June 3-5, 2016 - Lake Ozark, MO
The theme for this year's state convention is MFWDC 85th Anniversary, "Celebrating the Past... Building the Future". It is imperative that we concentrate on the elections of 2016. MFWDC members have worked diligently in the past to elect Democratic candidates and we must build the future by continuing to work hard by supporting the Democratic candidates for
President, US Senate and all state offices, including Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, and State Treasurer, as well as US Congressional districts, numerous legislative seats and county offices!
